Typhoid Vaccine

1. Typhoid Vaccine

Vaccine Names: Typhim Vi (injectable), Vivotif (oral)
Illness: Typhoid fever (can lead to sepsis, intestinal perforation)
Target Group: Food handlers, travelers to high-risk areas
Doses/Interval: Single dose every 3 years
Pathogen: Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi

Hepatitis A & B Vaccine

2. Hepatitis A & B Vaccine

Vaccine Names: Havrix (Hep A), Engerix-B (Hep B), Twinrix (combo A+B)
Illness: Liver inflammation, jaundice, liver failure (Hep B chronic)
Target Group: Travelers, food handlers, healthcare workers, infants
Doses/Interval:

  • Hep A: 2 doses (6–12 months apart)

  • Hep B: 3 doses (0, 1, 6 months)

  • Combo A+B: Follows Hep B schedule
    Pathogen: Hepatitis A & B viruses (HAV, HBV)

HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine

3. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine

Vaccine Name: Gardasil 9 (covers 9 HPV types)
Illness: Cervical cancer, genital warts, anal/oral cancers
Target Group: Boys & girls aged 9–26 (up to 45 years)
Doses/Interval:

  • Ages 9–14: 2 doses (0 & 6 months)

  • Ages 15–45: 3 doses (0, 1–2, 6 months)
    Pathogen: Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16, 18

Influenza (Flu) Vaccine

Vaccine Names: Fluarix, VaxigripTetra
Illness: Seasonal flu; may cause pneumonia, heart inflammation
Target Group: Elderly, children, pregnant women, people with chronic illness
Doses/Interval: 1 dose annually
Pathogen: Influenza A & B viruses

Varicella (Chickenpox) Vaccine

5. Varicella (Chickenpox) Vaccine

Vaccine Name: Varivax
Illness: Chickenpox; may lead to shingles, encephalitis, skin infection
Target Group: Children, unvaccinated adults, healthcare workers
Doses/Interval: 2 doses (4–8 weeks apart)
Pathogen: Varicella-zoster virus (VZV)

Pneumococcal Vaccine

6. Pneumococcal Vaccine

Vaccine Names: Prevnar 13 (PCV13), Pneumovax 23 (PPSV23)
Illness: Pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis
Target Group:

  • Children: Multi-dose schedule

  • Adults 65+ or with chronic illness: 1 dose (or per doctor’s advice)
    Pathogen: Streptococcus pneumoniae
